About this tool
This unit converter spans length, weight, area, temperature, speed, time and data storage, converting in real time between common metric and imperial units — cm↔inch, kg↔lb, Celsius↔Fahrenheit, KB↔MB and more.
Pick a category, enter a value and set the source unit, and every target unit updates in sync, saving you from looking up factors and multiplying by hand. Conversion runs locally in your browser and works offline.
How to use
- Choose a category (length, weight, temperature, etc.).
- Enter the value to convert.
- Select the unit the value is currently in.
- Read the live results in the other units.
- Copy the result for the unit you need.
When to use it
- Shopping overseas or reading foreign material — turning imperial into familiar metric.
- Cooking and fitness — converting weight, volume and temperature.
- Before traveling abroad — switching distances and temperatures to local units.
- Estimating file or data sizes across KB / MB / GB.
- Engineering and home projects — checking length and area units.
FAQ
Why is temperature different from other units?
Length and weight scale by a factor, but temperature needs an offset and a scale (Celsius to Fahrenheit is ×9/5 then +32), so a single multiplier will not work.
Are data units based on 1000 or 1024?
Two conventions exist: decimal 1KB=1000B (often used by drive makers) and binary 1KiB=1024B (often used by operating systems). Pick the one your context needs.
Is the conversion precise enough?
Results use floating-point math, accurate enough for everyday use; for extreme precision, keep more decimal places and round yourself.
