FAQ
Is the zodiac based on the lunar or Gregorian year?
This tool approximates by the Gregorian year for quick lookups. Strictly, the zodiac changes at Chinese New Year (or Lichun), so births near the new year may differ slightly from the lunar result.
What is the difference between age and nominal age?
Age counts how many birthdays you have passed and starts at 0 at birth. Nominal age is the traditional count: you are 1 at birth and gain a year each Chinese New Year, so it is usually 1–2 years higher.
Is my date of birth stored?
No. All calculation happens locally in your browser; the date is neither uploaded nor recorded.
